Toronto Fashion Week 2016: Mackage F/W Collection Highlights
By amin | Comments: 0 | March 17, 2016Last night, Mackage transformed CBC’s Studio 40 into an urban arctic playground for the private runway unveiling of their Fall Winter’16 collection. Featuring icicle chandeliers, an igloo runway entrance, and cocktails on ice for front row guests and live music by DJ Brendan Fallis, Mackage successfully fashioned a space that communicated their vision behind this season’s collection, coined Winter Warriors.
Inspired by the idea of a fashion-forward urban metropolis overrun by a severe cold front, Mackage’s carefully curated assembly of womenswear, menswear, accessories and handbags showcased embroidered parkas, colourful furs, layered wool coats, bold designs and of course Mackage’s signature stamp – leather detailing and motorcycle jackets. Conversely, the aesthetic of the runway environment was sleek and minimalistic, incorporating monochromatic colour schemes, ice inspired props and hints of utilitarian accents.
Despite the rainy weather, guests warriored their way to this season’s only off-site show for the brand’s 8th runway preview with Toronto Fashion Week. The studio turned runway was bustling with a long list of fashionable tastemakers, industry insiders and celebrities including World Heavyweight Champion Lennox Lewis Stacey McKenzie (Model).
