The annual Costume Institute Gala took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City last night and as usual, it was one of the most glittering fashion events of the year.
This year’s theme was Manus X Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology and the internet watched as A-list stars walked the red carpet in their best, many of them wearing designer looks that reflected this year’s theme.
While some designers like Zac Posen and Marchesa totally rocked the theme by using wearable tech in their creations, some of the other designers tried to reflect the theme by using silver, sequins, and glitter. The rest of them? Just random gowns that were pretty but had nothing to do with the theme.
So here we go. Here are my picks for best dressed celebrities. (To view the worst dressed and the “meh” gowns, click here). Let me know in the comment section if you agree!
BEST DRESSED:
Beyonce in this peach latex gown by Givenchy. Only Queen Bee could pull off this look. She has the body and confidence to pull off this look but I can’t help but wonder how does she go to the bathroom? I can’t imagine it’s easy to put on or take off that latex material so does she just not go at all during the night??? I wonder how she manages this. Hmmmm
Zoe Saldana in Dolce and Gabbana. Sure it doesn’t really fit the technology theme but it’s beautiful on her!
Emma Watson in Calvin Klein. A very classic gown and she looks great it in. Very regal!
Bella Hadid and The Weeknd. These two were one of the best dressed couples on the red carpet. I love the all black on them both and they look really good together.
Kendall Jenner in Versace and sister Kylie in Balmain. This was Kylie’s first time attending the Met gala and I think she did well! The dress looks incredible on her figure and as for Kendall, she reminds us all why she is such a popular model.
Amy Schumer in Alexander Wang. Another star attending the Met gala for the first time and I think the dress was perfect for her. It complimented her figure well and it was nice to see red among the sea of silver and sequins on the red carpet.

Kate Bosworth in Dolce and Gabbana.
Cindy Crawford in Balmain. She looked classy and elegant!
Â
Blake Lively in Burberry. Here is another dress that doesn’t fit the theme at all but it looks perfect on Blake and that’s all that matters 🙂
Nicole Kidman in Alexander McQueen. I love that cape!
