Sigh. This better be true now.
Reports are coming out that the Spice Girls WILL be reuniting for an anniversary tour. I’ve been hearing rumors for a while, but last I had checked the tour plans were gone after Victoria Beckham publicly said she would not be returning to the stage.
Thanks but no thanks…Victoria says no to anniversary tour
Thankfully, it seems the rest of the ladies aren’t going to let Victoria stop this tour from happening!
Now I’m hearing the tour WILL go on and Victoria will be part of it…sort of. Victoria won’t be singing or dancing as part of the show but she will either make a video for fans or make an appearance at an occasional show. The official word from Victoria’s camp is that she loves her time with the Spice Girls and all but she is now focused on her family.
The good ol’ days. Gotta love those outfits!
And let’s not kid ourselves. Victoria has always said she wasn’t the strongest of singers or dancers, with her attempt at a solo career proving this. She has found her mark in the fashion world so I can see why she wouldn’t be eager to sign up for the tour.
The last time the group performed together as a five-piece was during the Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics and they have previously gone on a reunion tour in 2007/2008.
The Spice Girls were the most successful girlband of all time, selling over 80 MILLION records! While the ladies have all gone on to have solo careers in music, TV, and fashion…none of them have been able to top the success they had as a group. That’s why I think it’s sweet that the girls are really pushing for Victoria to be apart of the reunion tour. They could have easily gone ahead without her but instead they have really tried to get her on board. Do they need her? I don’t think so but clearly the rest of the ladies want to do things right by having ALL of the members be part of this anniversary celebration.
SPICE GIRLS FOREVER!
I’ll keep you posted if and when reunion dates are announced. While they get it sorted out, let me ask you…if you’re a Spice Girls fan, do you think the ladies should go ahead with the tour without Victoria? Or is it all or nothing kind of deal?
