One of the most popular questions I get asked is what a typical day is like for a reporter like me. I always answer, there is no typical day because you literally never know how often your day will change from one hour to the next. Today was a great example of it. So I knew Mika Singh was coming to town to perform and we were trying to get him in for an interview. The day was spent calling my sources, trying to find out where he was, if he made his flight (he didn’t), if he could make it in, if we could go to him, etc etc. Oh and the whole time we didn’t know if he was confirmed, I had to prepare for the interview anyways to ensure I was ready to go if it did go through. And to my delight, the legend landed at the ATN studios and I got to sit down with him for an exclusive interview. He was a blast to speak to and was very open about his career, where he sees himself going, his thoughts on the new generation of singers, and how important it was for him to give back. I found out about his NGO where he funds the education for girls and helps them learn the skills to become confident grown up women. He also proved that he is all about the music and not about what the press says about his personal life. From singing some Punjabi to Hindi to even a bit of English rap, it sounded like a live concert right there in studio!
