Sneak Peek: Anita Dongre Presents ‘Epic Love’ New Collection at India Couture Week

One of those designers will include Anita Dongre who will be showcasing her collection for the first time at the show since the show moved to Delhi in 2010.

Her newest collection is called ‘Epic Love’ and the designer says the collection was made for the free-spirited bride who loves a touch of tradition.
Here’s what Anita has to say about ‘Epic Love’:
“The gypsy princess wanders into a Mughal garden to stumble upon the love of her life. Her heart sings a song and the feet follow with a dance. The epic love story embarks upon a new journey.â€
The young gypsy bride is the muse of Anita Dongre’s ‘Epic Love’ collection. Essentially Indian bridal wear, this luxury Bohemian collection is for the new age spirited bride. The chintz-inspired prints bring alive a Mughal garden in its full bloom, much like her young heart filled with passion. Anita says the young brides she sees tell her they want to enjoy what they wear rather than feel weighed down by their clothing. Keeping that in mind, the collection features traditional clothing like lehenga cholis and saris but these are reinvented with a contemporary silhouette.
The designer’s signature style intricate gota patti makes its customary appearance on the prints. The muse’s wanderlust heart moves from the vintage garden prints to regal grandeur. The canvas gets deeper, more passionate with rich jewel tones. The ensembles exude elegance wrapped in tradition.
Anita has also paid special attention to the blouses, ensuring each blouse in her new collection can have a multi-use—from wearing it with a heavy lehenga or mixing it with a sari to wearing it with a pair of jeans.
